TOMS Sunglasses With Jonathan Adler Do Summer Fashion
TOMS, the Los Angeles-based shoes and eyewear brand, has teamed up with Jonathan Adler, the New-York based furniture and textiles designer, on a collection of fashion sunglasses.
This is the first time TOMS has collaborated with a designer on eyewear, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
The collection, which is unisex, will include three silhouettes called the Lobamba, Marco and Memphis in variations of red, white and blue, as well as four eyewear cases. Each frame will have the motto “our glasses make you look smarter” on the inner temple and will be accompanied by an embroidered eyewear case featuring a colorful needlepoint design by Jonathan Adler.
TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie said TOMS approached Adler last year because they “love his irreverent and whimsical approach.”
The TOMS website calls the limited-edition collection a “summer spectacle.”dsDSSD43F
“They’ll make you look pretty sweet and feel even better, every time you rock them,” the site reads. “From the beach to the BBQ, stay sharp all summer long. Plus, with an exclusive needlepoint case, you can stow your shades in style.”male sex toys The collection will retail from $169 to $179, with the stand-alone case retailing for $42. The cheap sexy lingerie and cases will be sold at TOMS flagship in Venice, California, Jonathan Adler stores in Miami, LA, San Francisco, Austin and London, and toms.com beginning in June 2013.
TOMS will hold to its standard “One for One” business model and help provide sight to someone in need for every sale. According to TIME, Mycoskie applied its “One for One” model – donating a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair sold – to eyewear because the company realized that in the communities it already served, there were many children whose eyesight was impacting their education. They also noticed elderly people developing cataracts and loss of vision.
