There are some very cool gadgets for gaming around, and one that held a great deal of promise when it was demonstrated at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January was the Nvidia Project Shield, a proper portable gaming system that used the Android operating system. Now that it has been around for a while, we will see if it is living up to its initial promise.

Essentially it is a hybrid between an Xbox controller with and a Tegra 4 smartphone. It is equipped with the fastest mobile graphics processor in the world and it replaces the need to use touch screens with a real physical controller.

The question is, does it work in practice? So far the feedback has been very positive. For instance using it as a PC games controller is little different from using an Xbox wireless controller with no discernible latency (100 to 150ms according to Nvidia) and physically the controller is comfortable and easy to use. There are four buttons on the front in the top right and there are for tf card buttons on the top. The analogue joystick controller and the D-Pad are similar to the Xbox 360 but in opposite positions.

If you prefer to use gestures, there is also a 5 inch multi-touch screen. It is HD (720p) with a resolution of 294 dpi, and there are high quality built-in speakers with fdsfE2ds excellent low frequency output quality.

That said, he always had this issue of running out of wall sockets for his plethora of gadgets that he has which includes various tablets PCs, Cellphones, iPod's, Bluetooth headsets, tf card Hands-free car speakerphone just to name a few. He requested me to come up with a solution for him wherein he could forget all those unique chargers that comes with his gadgets and just use one for charging. I told him - oh Yeah! I can build one for you but it will look like a Frankenstein monster with tentacles not to mention shock and fire hazard that comes along with a version 1 of a "home-brew" project.
