There cheap tablets aren¡¯t a lot of Android tablets with 13 inch screens. There¡¯s the Archos FamilyPad, and then there¡¯s the Toshiba Excite 13. Neither is widely available in the US, and neither is particularly cheap. The best price I could find was at B&H, which is taking pre-orders for the FamilyPad 2 for $320.

But now there¡¯s a new 13.3 inch tablet on the market: The cheap cell phones Kocaso GX1400. It¡¯s available from the ebestshop4u store on eBay for $300.

Kocaso is a budget tablet maker known for making some of the cheapest Android tablets that flood eBay, Amazon, and other sdsafWS2 marketplaces. I¡¯ve never tested one, and can¡¯t really comment on their quality or performance.

But on paper the Kocaso GX1400 doesn¡¯t look too bad¡ if you think that a 13.3 inch Android tablet is a good idea.

The GX1400 features a Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and has a 10,000mAh battery which is good for up to 5 hours of run time.

That cheap tablets might not sound like a lot of battery life for an Android tablet¡ and it¡¯s not. But that 13 inch display is going to use a little more power than your typical tablet display.

Kocaso¡¯s tablet features a 3MP rear camera and 0.3Mp front-facing camera, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1, a mini HDMI output, and a micro SD card slot. It has a 1280 x 800 pixel display.

In case the screen size didn¡¯t give it away, this tablet isn¡¯t exactly svelte. It measures 13¡å x 9¡å a 0.5¡å and weighs 2.9 pounds. That cheap watches makes it heavier than some 13 inch notebooks, even though there¡¯s no keyboard.

If you plan to use a large tablet around the house to watch videos, read recipes, or play games, the extra weight might not matter much. But if you¡¯re N9500 S4 looking for something for use on the go, there are plenty of 10 inch tablets that weigh half as much, or 7 inch models that are even lighter.
